Disney World in Summer: Strategies for Enjoying the Magic

This podcast episode delves into the complexities and strategies associated with visiting Walt Disney World during the sweltering summer months, especially for families with young children. We explore the challenges posed by high temperatures and increased crowd levels, offering insights and practical tips to enhance the experience while mitigating the stress often associated with such visits. A significant focus is placed on the inherent advantages of remaining on property, which affords guests the luxury of convenient access to accommodations and respite from the heat. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of pacing one's activities, advocating for strategic breaks to ensure both enjoyment and comfort throughout the day. Ultimately, our discussion aims to equip listeners with the knowledge necessary to navigate the summer theme park landscape effectively, ensuring a memorable family vacation.

Takeaways:

  • During the summer months, families often face intense heat and large crowds at Walt Disney World, which necessitates careful planning and strategic breaks.
  • Staying on property at Disney offers significant advantages, such as convenient transportation and the ability to take midday breaks to avoid the harsh sun.
  • While summer attendance has historically been lower than peak holiday periods, the heat remains a significant factor influencing visitor experiences at the parks.
  • It is advisable for families with young children to identify indoor attractions that provide respite from the heat, ensuring a more enjoyable experience throughout the day.
  • One should consider park hopping as a viable strategy to manage heat and crowd levels effectively, allowing for a more balanced day at the parks.

Your stop for everything Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.

Speaker A:

I am Tony Desiri along with all the magic travels, Lauren Mallard.

Speaker A:

And today we are going to be heading into the summer months of theme park attendance and what is it like to attend during the summer with little ones and some tips that kind of can keep you from losing your mind from the intense heat and the crowds of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Speaker A:

Once again, if you've been listening to this podcast podcast and you like what you've been hearing, please leave us a five star review and leave a comment.

Speaker A:

We'd love to hear your input on what we've been doing so far on this podcast.

Speaker A:

Hello, Lauren.

Speaker B:

Hey Tony.

Speaker A:

We are about ready to switch into the calendar of May.

Speaker A:

So we are in the late April as we record this, we're heading into May, which is technically the summer months.

Speaker A:

Schools are starting to let out.

Speaker A:

That's right, vacations are starting to happen.

Speaker B:

It's my favorite time of the year.

Speaker A:

The favorite time of the year.

Speaker A:

And we are starting to see, you know, this is when families are going to go, all right, time to go to Florida, to go to, to go to Disney World.

Speaker A:

Some have done this before, they do this summer, but some families with kids, maybe this is their first time going down to Florida for a Disney World vacation in the summertime.

Speaker A:

And it is, it's going to be some things we need to chat about because it's a hard time to go given the heat and the crowds.

Speaker A:

But for a lot of families, one of the only times they can go.

Speaker B:

That's right.

Speaker B:

And you know, I get this question so often as far as when is the best time to go.

Speaker B:

And so really you're fighting against a couple different things.

Speaker B:

If you go during the summer, you talk about the crowds.

Speaker B:

Honestly, what I've seen historically over, over the last few years is the crowds are trending a little lower during the summertime.

Speaker B:

And so if you can withstand the heat, it's actually one of the better times to be there versus, like fall break is the worst time in my opinion to go or around Christmas, which I love being there around Christmas, but you're going to have those crowds.

Speaker B:

So I think the major, major limitation is going to be the heat.

Speaker B:

During this.

Speaker A:

You sometimes see Disney World.

Speaker A:

Well, they'll, they'll say in the news, for example, that Magic Kingdom shut down from capacity.

Speaker A:

It's, it's not really in June or usually like you said, those holiday months that were really kicks in, you have to really kind of pay attention to the capacity of the crowd where they say, no, we're, we're at our limit, that's it.

Speaker A:

But you're right, I've seen that too.

Speaker A:

Where slowly we have starting to see a decline in summer attendance.

Speaker A:

The last time I was at Disney World in the summertime was in August.

Speaker A:

I took my son down to college.

Speaker A:

We decided to do a day at Epcot just to sort of mingle around.

Speaker A:

And it was not as busy.

Speaker A:

My parents go in the summer as season pass holders as much as they can as senior citizens and they've noticed that too.

Speaker A:

But nevertheless, nevertheless, the heat is where people who are not from Florida might be wondering, how do I manage the heat?

Speaker A:

How do I manage with two kids and a long day and the intense heat?

Speaker A:

Not just the heat, but the humidity of those Florida months.

Speaker B:

Yeah, you know, I think that during the summer is probably the time versus any other time of the year that you should really look at staying on property because it gives you that flexibility of being able to take the bus back to the hotel during the day, take a swim.

Speaker B:

It's a lot easier to do that, that than going to an off property hotel.

Speaker B:

Whereas the shuttles are a little more spaced out for off property, whereas the ones on Disney property are constantly running and allow you to kind of take those midday breaks or get a later start.

Speaker B:

If you wanted to spend some time and not be just completely in the sun for 12 hours for the, for a day in the park, that has.

Speaker A:

Always been good advice to people.

Speaker A:

Take a break, go back to the hotel.

Speaker A:

If you're staying on property, go for a swim.

Speaker A:

What would you advise for somebody who says, boy, Lauren, I really appreciate that, but every day this is costing me 500 bucks.

Speaker A:

I really just don't want to take four hours away from what I'm paying for.

Speaker A:

How do you get around that?

Speaker B:

That is really a great question.

Speaker B:

And honestly what I like to say is look at it as, this is the entire cost of the vacation rather than what am I spending to be in the theme park today?

Speaker B:

Because while the theme park is the main objective of your Walt Disney World vacation, don't look at it as being the only reason that you're there.

Speaker B:

Because if you look at it as, on the whole, you can stay at Pop Century sometimes during the summer, there are some really great deals.

Speaker B:

I was looking today for less than 200 a night.

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker B:

And that gives you that early access to the hotel, to the theme park that morning and then gives you that on site transportation.

Speaker B:

And so if you really look at it as apples to apples of I can get an off property hotel or an off property house and then have to pay parking but still have to get myself to the park.

Speaker B:

Or I can have a little bit more enjoyable time, get in, get more done during that 30 minutes so that I'm there for early entry.

Speaker B:

Then I might still get as much done and have that break time than if I was staying off.

Speaker A:

I agree and I, I think with people, I never like to say find to tell people what they value and what they value but at the same time I go, do you really want to spend your vacation constantly going how much am I getting of this?

Speaker A:

How much am I?

Speaker A:

Because it'll drive you crazy.

Speaker A:

Because then you'll, then you'll micromanage that to waiting in lines, to waiting for food.

Speaker A:

Do I want to do a sit down restaurant that may take an hour and a half rather than grabbing a quick burger where I could be.

Speaker A:

What is it that you're valuing from.

Speaker B:

Your vacation time will tick all day long and if you look at it that way, it's never going to feel like you're going to get your money's worth.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

Because I for one would much rather if I'm there in June or July, I am going to take the time to go into somewhere air conditioned and sit down for a dinner that's not for everybody.

Speaker B:

Everybody doesn't have to do that and there is no right or no wrong way to do it.

Speaker B:

If you would rather sit at Casey's Corner in the 95 degree heat and have a hot dog so that you can keep going, that's totally fine.

Speaker B:

And that's right for some people.

Speaker B:

But for me, I know if I'm going to want to get a couple more hours out of the afternoon, I'm going to go ahead and budget in there and say, hey, I want to go sit down somewhere and have a quiet good dinner and then be able to get back out into the.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And I think a lot of people, the term is pacing.

Speaker A:

Like listen, if you're a marathon runner and your whole family is super athletic and you can do a whole day in the heat, God bless you.

Speaker B:

Oh absolutely.

Speaker A:

But I know like I get more out of my day if you tell me, hey, we're gonna go stop here for 30 minutes, we're gonna stop here, then I can get you to the finish line.

Speaker A:

And that leads me to my third part.

Speaker A:

Don't forget a lot of these parks now will open later in the summertime.

Speaker A:

So don't be afraid to take that break and Feel like you're losing some valuable park time.

Speaker A:

Sometimes these parks are closing at a, at a time where you're gonna get some extra value when it's.

Speaker A:

When it turns dark.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that's right.

Speaker B:

And if your kids can hang, definitely take advantage of that, even if you're.

Speaker B:

If is later in the day.

Speaker B:

Because people are taking breaks at different times of the day, which is going to kind of play into that crowd situation.

Speaker B:

So if you can be there kind of in the middle of the day and take your break a little bit later and then come back after the sun goes down, you're gonna see a little break in the heat and it's gonna feel so much more enjoyable.

Speaker A:

Well, let's talk about little kids, because little kids can, and I know you're more experienced with this, taking your little ones to Disney than I was when my kids were little.

Speaker A:

But there are certain attractions at Disney World and we call them, you know, the nap rides.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Like Carousel of Progress, hall of Presidents.

Speaker A:

But it's one thing to say, hey, my husband and I, or me and my older kid are going in there.

Speaker A:

But when you take a little kid into a place where they're not know, they don't know what's the hall of Presidents is, how do you get them to sort of say, hey, this is quiet relaxed time.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that's snack time.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So you're going to want to take in there and take like a bag of goldfish or you know, a bag of popcorn, which they're going to say, no food or drink, but you know what, it's dark in there and slide it in and nobody's gonna see you.

Speaker B:

So take their water bottle or take a juice box, give them a snack.

Speaker B:

Even if you have to give them something like a device for a minute because it is still just getting them in the air conditioned.

Speaker B:

If they're bored to death in say hall of Presidents, then just give them a second to relax and let their brain kind of adjust again to get them back out there.

Speaker B:

Now, my favorite one for kids to, to be able to enjoy and to get that break is Finding Nemo.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

I love that show.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's been cut down a little bit.

Speaker B:

It used to be a little bit too long.

Speaker B:

It used to be like 45 minutes and now it's only 25.

Speaker B:

But it is the perfect length.

Speaker B:

Animal Kingdom is a hot park.

Speaker B:

If you're gonna spend a day there, know that it is so, so hot.

Speaker B:

And there are a couple things there with Finding Nemo and with Festival of The Lion King, that the kids are going to love those shows and also cool down.

Speaker A:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker A:

And again, Magic Kingdom.

Speaker A:

They're the Tiki Room Y Presidents Carousel of Progress.

Speaker A:

These are indoor attractions.

Speaker A:

25 minutes sometimes it's all you need.

Speaker A:

You can go inside the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot Center.

Speaker A:

Spaceship Earth is a long ride.

Speaker A:

It'll get you away from the heat.

Speaker A:

So don't be afraid to, you know, go into the aquarium at.

Speaker A:

At.

Speaker A:

There's a lot of places where you can escape from the heat.

Speaker A:

Keep yourself entertained.

Speaker A:

But if you are looking for that, I just want to sit for 20 minutes and.

Speaker A:

But I want to attend.

Speaker A:

Try some of those.

Speaker A:

Even if your kids aren't going to appreciate.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

Seeing all of the presidents of the United States, it is worth it to get out of the sun, out of the humidity.

Speaker A:

The other thing I always tell people about Florida, and I learned this the hard way, because when I was dating my wife back in the 90s, we went to Busch Gardens.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

We were having a great time at Busch Gardens.

Speaker A:

And we were on this roller coaster and we're having fun.

Speaker A:

And it was towards the end of the day, and my fiance at.

Speaker A:

I'm a girlfriend at the time now, wife said, hey, we probably should be leaving.

Speaker A:

And I said, why?

Speaker A:

She goes, because it's going to rain.

Speaker A:

And I said, no, it isn't gonna rain.

Speaker A:

And she says, no, it's gonna rain.

Speaker A:

And by the time we got to the parking lot, it was up to my ankles, like she could see it in the distance.

Speaker A:

And being a Floridian, she knew it's coming and it's coming quick and it's gonna be really, really bad.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And that's what you're gonna get a lot of times in the summer months.

Speaker A:

So prepare for.

Speaker A:

If you're going for a week at Disney World, it's possible it could rain for some time every single day while you're down there.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And if you want to pack the cheap ponchos, go ahead and do that.

Speaker B:

Sometimes I do, and sometimes I say, you know, I'm not gonna fool with that today.

Speaker B:

I just don't want to carry it in the backp with the rain.

Speaker B:

That's another thing where I'll go back to our little hack of walking in the Emporium.

Speaker B:

And you can walk all the way down to Casey's Corner.

Speaker B:

So you know it's going to be crowded during that time if it's raining outside, but just do that.

Speaker B:

And another note on the rain is they will have if they have to cancel the parade, which I think is the worst thing.

Speaker B:

If they do have to cancel the parade for rain, they'll have a little thing called the Rainy Day Parade.

Speaker B:

And it's just one or two carts full of characters.

Speaker B:

And be sure to just watch that because it's really cute and it's just kind of a way to say, hey, we're still here, but sorry, we can't have the parade.

Speaker A:

Do we have any tips?

Speaker A:

Tips or hacks for people who are working on the parade and they do not want to stand all day for like an hour on a busy day to say like, look, I want a good spot for the parade, but I, I can't do it in this heat and sun.

Speaker A:

Do we have any little hacks for that?

Speaker B:

You know, that's a really good question.

Speaker B:

And I can remember back when I was a kid, my dad was always the designated parade and so he would have to go and usually he didn't care because he would get a bag of popcorn and a Coke and just sit there and lay, lay the towel or the blanket out or whatever and make room.

Speaker B:

Now what I tend to do is I will not go ahead of time because my kids will whine if they're little, then they don't want to sit there in the sun and wait.

Speaker B:

What I usually do is kind of like scope it out as I'm walking and I'll say, oh, that spot doesn't look to be quite as busy as this spot over here.

Speaker B:

Personally, I think there's really no right or wrong place to watch the parade because it's going to be the same regardless.

Speaker B:

Some people like to watch it with Cinderella Castle in the background.

Speaker B:

I don't really think that's important.

Speaker B:

So wherever you see that looks to be the least crowd crowded.

Speaker B:

Or what's even better is look and see what side of the street is shaded.

Speaker B:

Because if you can get on the side of the street that's shaded, then you're going to have a much more enjoyable.

Speaker A:

And always remember and, and many of you know this, but if a parade is starting, let's say at one and you're down by, you know, down by the emporium or down in that little, you know, that sort of, that sort of rope.

Speaker A:

What is it?

Speaker A:

The circle?

Speaker A:

Yeah, down at the beginning of the park, it's going to take a while for the parade to come to you.

Speaker A:

So at 2:00 is really like a 2:30.

Speaker A:

It is by the time you see it.

Speaker A:

So always anticipate that.

Speaker A:

If you're saying I got Little kids, they want to see the parade.

Speaker A:

Oh, we got a great spot on Main street.

Speaker A:

It's almost 2:00.

Speaker A:

Almost 2:00.

Speaker A:

You still got a while before that's coming through the Frontierland area all the way through down to you.

Speaker A:

Before your kids can be entertained by something and not realize that they're standing around in the heat doing nothing.

Speaker B:

That's a great point, you know.

Speaker A:

All right, so let's talk about crowds because, yes, summertimes, we're seeing a little bit of a decline in sort of the attendance in the summertime.

Speaker A:

But you can hit a day or two where it is going to be really, really packed and to anticipate, you know, long lines, long lines for food, long lines for rides, etc, and, and I don't mean to be the grumpy, but sometimes just the pressing of people can drive you crazy.

Speaker B:

Oh, absolutely.

Speaker B:

If you are hot and sweaty and you put a bunch of bodies right around me, I am gonna immediately turn into grumpy.

Speaker B:

And so I think, really, that's where you have to say, you know, I realize I booked this trip in the summer and there is no chance that it's gonna be cool.

Speaker B:

That's zero chance months.

Speaker B:

So you kind of have to go in and pack your patience for that part of it.

Speaker A:

I.

Speaker A:

I have a friend of mine who doesn't go to Disney.

Speaker A:

He's not.

Speaker A:

He just went with his family one time and they went in July and it was hot.

Speaker A:

And he said, I'm never going to do that again.

Speaker A:

And I said, well, what a shame, because if you can find ways to go in the fall, or you could find ways to go at certain other times.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

Most of what you didn't like about that experience would be taken away.

Speaker A:

I.

Speaker A:

I could see it and feel it, you know, being at like Pinocchio house and just being pressed with people while you're trying to get a, A flatbread, it can really drive you crazy.

Speaker A:

But I agree.

Speaker A:

Know what you're going into.

Speaker A:

I've got a friend who's going down in June and they're from Houston.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So they're in hot and humid weather.

Speaker A:

They're in hot, humid, buggy weather, but they're also from California and they go to.

Speaker A:

They've been a Disneyland family until they moved to Houston a number of years ago.

Speaker A:

And even he asked me, well, what's.

Speaker A:

What's it going to be like down there?

Speaker A:

We know we're hot.

Speaker A:

Is it as hot?

Speaker A:

I said, yeah, it's as hot.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I know my corporate Office is in Houston.

Speaker A:

It's really hot.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And he's still trying to figure out, well, how do we manage it?

Speaker A:

Because it's one thing to take your kid to a ball game when it's 90 degrees and 90% humidity.

Speaker A:

What about walking on concrete floors and going on rides?

Speaker B:

Yeah, you know, it's really tough because a lot of my tips go back to spending more money, which really stinks.

Speaker B:

But, like, if you're looking at it too.

Speaker B:

So if I'm looking overall at the.

Speaker B:

At the calendar of the resort prices.

Speaker B:

So if I start with resort prices and I see that really they're least expensive in the summertime.

Speaker B:

So, yes, you're going to save some money there.

Speaker B:

But can you pick back that up in your budget to go ahead and add the lightning lanes, at least for Magic Kingdom?

Speaker B:

Because I think that it would serve you so much better to be able to get more done during the day and do it at a slower pace than.

Speaker B:

And I say slower pace, whereas you're not waiting in as many lines and you can get more done so that you can take that break or you can go in that shop and look, or you can stop for that ice cream.

Speaker B:

Because when you go in the summer, there just is no way to do it without doing it at a little bit slower pace and being able to, To.

Speaker B:

To.

Speaker B:

To give yourself that grace.

Speaker B:

Because you can't.

Speaker B:

Or at least I can't.

Speaker B:

I know there are some people that can start at 7am in the park, go literally all day long, and then end at 11pm and not feel it the next day.

Speaker A:

Oh, absolutely.

Speaker A:

You know, so park hopping, if you have little kids and it's hot and you're dealing with crowds, is park hopping a good idea?

Speaker B:

I think so, because I think that they get burnt out so easily, no pun intended, getting burned out in July.

Speaker B:

But I think they get burnout park really quickly.

Speaker B:

Especially we go back to that Animal Kingdom being so hot.

Speaker B:

If you're there from 8am to 10am and you are blazing hot at Animal Kingdom, hey, let's go ahead and hop over to Hollywood Studios where some more things are indoors, or hop over to Epcot where you can go into Spaceship Earth, or then you can just walk through the World Showcase, which is still hot, but, you know, just a different kind of hot.

Speaker A:

I would advise people to park hop only from this standpoint is because of the parks in the varying hours.

Speaker A:

And you're right.

Speaker A:

If you've got kids and you know you're going to need that break, break, sometimes it's better to go.

Speaker A:

Look, I've done Epcot, but tonight Hollywood Studios is closing at 10 or whatever.

Speaker A:

And you know what, if we take a break, we can get five hours over there.

Speaker A:

So let's do that.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

You know it.

Speaker A:

If you're playing the game a little bit where you're sort of trying to figure out where you want to go and how you want to maximize your day and you know you're going to need that break.

Speaker A:

Sometimes it's better to go, look, I want to go here and then I want to break and then I want to go here.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

And I think you're right too.

Speaker A:

I think there's, there is times where you can say, hey, it's really hot.

Speaker A:

Let's go over to Disney Magic Kingdom and let's go do some of the indoor stuff and let's chill out for a little bit.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And try to keep yourself from walking from one end of the park to the other for everything.

Speaker B:

So that's so hard to do too, because if you look at the wait times and you think that Pirates of the Caribbean has a really short wait time, but hey, then next one Space Mountain doesn't have a long wait time.

Speaker B:

You're, you've got to kind of think about, hey, those steps are going to get hot on my feet during the summer hours or the summer days.

Speaker B:

And just try to try to stay in one land as long as possible before moving on.

Speaker A:

You know, I wanted to bring up one other point because we were just talking about when somebody says, hey, look, I've paid a lot for these tickets and I don't want to spend three hours back at the hotel.

Speaker A:

And I paid a lot for the tickets.

Speaker A:

Always remember, if you're buying them over like five days, that individual price goes down the more days you buy.

Speaker A:

So if you're buying one day, it's $160.

Speaker A:

But if you're buying five days, that price is significantly less.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And that's where I say too, if, if you have a longer time to spend, whether you're on property or off property, then go ahead and build in.

Speaker B:

Let's say you're down there for seven nights, just do a five day ticket.

Speaker B:

And that way you don't feel pressured to go to the park on one of those days.

Speaker B:

You're able to just spend a day just resting or doing something that's a little bit more location.

Speaker A:

All right, so some of those tips that we're giving you for the summer months, but as you mentioned earlier, there are some very good deals that are going on right now.

Speaker A:

And how much of this is the Epic universe opening?

Speaker A:

Because that's getting a lot of press and buzz.

Speaker A:

I, I gotta tell you, I'm not in the theme park industry in terms of like managing parks.

Speaker A:

I've never been and I've never even known people who do.

Speaker A:

But I'm wondering how much Disney is like, you know, what do the Tick Tock videos?

Speaker A:

We get it, we understand.

Speaker A:

We're not going to fight that.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Like the, the content creators are checking out Wolfenstein and they're checking out the Donkey Kong ride.

Speaker A:

We're gonna chill out.

Speaker A:

But if you're paying attention, there are some fantastic deals going on right now.

Speaker B:

There really, really are.

Speaker B:

And to be honest, I think Disney is probably a little bit scared because Epic looks, it looks fantastic.

Speaker B:

I mean, it looks amazing.

Speaker B:

And so, yes, I realized Villains Land is down the road, but I mean, we're still three or four years out from that probably.

Speaker B:

And so, yeah, Disney is probably feeling it a little bit this summer because people staying on property at Universal and maybe coming over to Disney for the day rather than the other way around.

Speaker B:

And so, yeah, we're seeing things like, still I'm finding free dining plans for people.

Speaker B:

Still I'm finding half price kids tickets for ages three to nine.

Speaker B:

And you know what?

Speaker B:

I can hack that so that you can book a room only and get the room discount which are still showing up everywhere.

Speaker B:

Deluxe, moderate and value.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

And then we can buy your tickets separately so that you can double dip that discount and get those half price kids tickets.

Speaker B:

And then you're really, really start to see some savings.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

My wife and I just booked a trip in September.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And we, we're going F Full Week 5 Park, 5 Day Park Hopper pass with the dining plan at Pop Century for less than $3,000.

Speaker B:

Amazing.

Speaker A:

It's crazy.

Speaker A:

And again, I, I get it.

Speaker A:

The competition can, you know, really can breed that sort of thing.

Speaker A:

I mean, look, everyone I know is buzzing about Epic Universe.

Speaker A:

Everybody wants to go.

Speaker A:

Everybody wants to find a way to go.

Speaker A:

And I completely understand it because in this day and age, which did not exist in 99 when animal kingdom was up and running, where you just are constantly seeing stuff.

Speaker A:

I have to stay away from these videos because I want to, I want to go to Epic and be sort of shocked and surprised.

Speaker A:

I really don't want to be spoiling.

Speaker A:

I don't want ride spoilers or anything like that.

Speaker A:

But they're hard, man.

Speaker B:

Everywhere.

Speaker A:

They're everywhere.

Speaker A:

And you have to.

Speaker A:

And you're seeing them.

Speaker A:

Here's the food, here's the hotel, here's the, here's the new roller coaster, here's characters that are going on in Epic Universe.

Speaker A:

But again, if you are planning that Disney trip, this is a really good time to go.

Speaker A:

Take advantage of the competition that's taking all of the press and all of the fame and all the notoriety because the other side is saying we still got something really cool over here and you might be able to go here at a price you probably won't see in a while.

Speaker B:

That's right.

Speaker B:

And you know, the one thing that we haven't mentioned yet that will be the biggest, the biggest factor as far as keeping yourself cool on your Disney vacation this summer is we're still offering that free day at the water park.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker B:

On the day that you check in.

Speaker B:

And starting in May, we're gonna have both water parks open.

Speaker B:

And so the rumor is, we don't know yet, but the rumor is you might be able to start the day at Blizzard beach and then hop over to Typhoon Lagoon and get both of them in during that one day.

Speaker A:

So, and we, as we've, you and I have talked about in other podcasts, there some things that are down.

Speaker A:

Dino Land is over, that's been shut down, but test tracks should be opening up.

Speaker B:

I hope so.

Speaker B:

You know, they said summer of 26, which was very vague.

Speaker B:

I really hope I'm really, really crossing my fingers for June because I'm headed down there in June.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's right.

Speaker B:

You know, I'm sure it'll open the week after.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

I'm hoping by September it'll be there up and running because I missed it the last go around.

Speaker A:

It's been down for a year, right?

Speaker A:

Down for quite a while.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And they got new cars and everything.

Speaker B:

I'm excited.

Speaker A:

It's a lot of good stuff.
